How have I never read this book?! Setting aside the fact that it's a Christmas classic so that should have been a reason for me to read it right there, it's a VAN ALLSBURG BOOK?! I'm overcome... The story is heart-warming and it's clear why it's so meaningful to many readers. I found it to be a little slow, but I didn't mind too much because it has such beautiful illustrations. I also loved the ending--Christmas magic!

For: readers looking for a winter/Christmas classic; those wanting a book that celebrates the joys of Christmas magic.

Possible red flags: some readers may find the book a little slow.
