Superman: Up in the Sky
by Tom King
Up In The Sky is an enjoyable read, maybe a bit more for a Superman fan than a newbie (I loved Superman's perseverance, but know there's plenty of confirmation bias and others might find it heavy-handed), but plenty accessible to anyone. King weaves some nice character moments (the thing that scared Superman most!) with lots of big action. One chapter didn't land for me (the hamhanded Flash race), but the rest was a treat. King gave Andy Kubert lots of stunning visuals to go bonkers with, and I loved seeing a Kubert drawing Sgt Rock and Easy again. And I loved Batman's answer to the alien invasion's defeat.
