This book is easily my least favorite. The transition from book 3 to book 4 will give you whiplash as many many many years have passed and nothing is the same. Leto is basically a sand worm tyrant and Duncan Idaho number 9,313 are the only returning characters from the entire series. The planet of Arrakis is no longer a desert as it is now a lush paradise (which is a transition I hate) and the imperium is still up to their tricks. I will be honest I lost track of my thoughts a few times in this book and the only parts I was invested in were the parts with Duncan Idaho. Without Duncan in this book, I probably would have checked out. I do plan on reading book 5 sometime within the year, so hopefully that book is better.
