This had the same pattern as the first book where it was a very slow start, rapid finish, and had an odd focus on sex and violence. The mystery itself was good, but there were one too many coincidences for my taste.
The Girl Who Played with Fire follows Lisbeth Salander, a brilliant but troubled hacker, as she is framed for the murders of two journalists investigating a sex-trafficking ring. As journalist Mikael Blomkvist works to clear her name, he uncovers a conspiracy involving corrupt officials and Salander's violent past. The story delves into themes of abuse, revenge, and resilience, culminating in a dramatic confrontation that sheds light on Salander's complex history.
