Daisy Jones and the Six is a fictional oral history of a fictional 1970s band. The story follows familiar arcs of how bands are founded, how they rise to prominence, in-fighting and jealousy among members, and breakups. Fans of Taylor Jenkins Reid's The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo may be slightly disappointed with the lack of tension in Daisy Jones and the Six as the plot is predictable in places. It's a quick read with short sections, which lends itself to readers struggling with focusing on anything during the pandemic.
