Lasting Ever: Faith, Music, Family, and Being Found by True Love by REBECCA. FINK ST JAMES (CUBBIE.), Cubbie Fink

Jesus was “a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering”(Isa. 53:3). He’s not intimidated by our problems, anger; sorrow, grief, and questions. His ministry here on earth was a complete mix of sorrow and joy; life and death. The mix is important because “suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us” (Rom. 5:3-5 ESV). When pain sweeps in and threatens to knock you off your feet, stand firm in your care for others and faith in Christ by remaining curious and openhearted. Ask the questions and know that it’s okay to not have all the answers. Create space for God to respond and slowly; but surely, you’ll discover that your love and His love will get you through. You will hear His voice again.

Such a good book! I am a huge fan of the small bone family which originally started with Rebecca. Her songs and testimony often encouraged me in my young adult years. This took me back and her husbands story encouraged me in my current season.
