A step up from Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas, but I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as Jitterbug Perfume. Tom Robbins loves to sprinkle Asian mysticism, scent, bizarre men and over-the-top nubile women into his novels. I think this will be my last Robbins novel: his go-to themes are feeling tired and his descriptions of sex more gross and disturbing.
