The Man Who Died Twice by Richard Osman

adventurous lighthearted mysterious medium-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? Plot
  • Loveable characters? Yes

4.0

I wasn't convinced by the first in this book series that it was worth persevering, but I'm such a fan of Richard Osman that I felt I had to give him another chance. As it turns out, this second book is much better than the first. Helped, of course, by not having to introduce all of the characters, this one focuses on the mystery to be solved and has a far superior plot to the first.

I really enjoyed this book and I am going to keep reading the series now. I mean, some of my favourite mystery solving detectives are older people - Miss Marple, Monsieur Poirot, Father Brown - so why not add Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron and Ibrahim to the group?
