This book was SO GOOD I just couldn't put it away. It kind of reminded me of Mira Grant's Newsflesh books, but that's not a bad thing, since they're my favourite books.
I loved so many things about it, but one of the main things was Melanie's crush on Miss Justineau. Even if it was an innocent kid crush, it made me happy because it wasn't the usual boring heterosexual crushes (sorry not sorry) that so many other books contain.
The ending was sad but honestly, I wouldn't ever wish for another ending. It lowkey bothers me when everyone survives and gets a happy ending in dystopian books about apocalyptic diseases, because it's not realistic. People die. And here, they did. I cried at one point, but it was still beautiful.
