Out of all the characters in the Shadowhunters world, Magnus Bane is definitely my favorite. So of course I was thrilled to see an entire book devoted to short stories about Magnus's life. He's a colorful character who lived his life on his own terms, no matter what period of time it was in. The stories ranged from the 1700s to nearly present day, and I loved seeing snippets of different times throughout his life. Some of the stories were important moments in Shadowhunter and Downworlder history, others were important moments in actual real-world history, some were important parts of Magnus's life, and some were just fun stories. But each was told with Magnus's characteristic flair, humor, and amazing sense of fashion.
