Morally grey characters! A character-driven story! Characters that are actually in the new adult 22-30 age range! Dark academia! Secret societies!
^That’s just a little bit of what to love about The Atlas Six. I loved the complexity and the intelligence of the characters the most, followed by loads of philosophical explorations (that honestly went way over my head at times but definitely got a lot of highlights), and the whole ~all these people and this society are morally grey so how am I supposed to know who to trust~ vibe.
To be fair this is more of a 4.5 rounded up: the only things I’m nitpicking on are:
1. Sometimes the multiple POVs got too unevenly distributed. Namely, I was really excited for a Japanese main character, Reina (especially since she was the only one out of the six to be from the eastern hemisphere). But we ended up not getting a lot of POV from her compared to some other characters?
2. Maybe I’m just a bit dumb but I couldn’t quite grasp the whole magic world-building sometimes, which I didn’t mind *that* much since I was more focused on the characters
Overall such a great read - a bit slow at first but it picks up a lot towards the end.
