Claire is stuck in a loveless marriage and is headed on a mountain vacation with her husband and two other couples. Will her marriage survive the weekend? Will her friends survive the weekend or will they all be plucked off one by one? This is the ultimate cat and mouse game. The only thing is who is the cat and who are the mice?
Claire thought this weekend would be a chance to relax and get away, even if her husband tags along. But when their car breaks down in the middle of the woods they must find their way out or be hunted by man or beast.
This is by far my favorite McFadden book from beginning to end, definitely a 5 star rating. I was craving to find out who “anonymous” was but conflicted for feeling sorry for them throughout the book. Freida’s gift for character building and making the reader question every intuition towards them is unparalleled. And as always with her books don’t skip the epilogue!
