This one just wasn't for me.
I liked the idea of the plot, I really did. Heathcliff was an interesting character that had real development. People say this is a love story, people say it's not. It certainly felt more like a tragedy to me. This book was controversial for its time, it might still be, and very impressive regarding the author's circumstances.
However, this book felt much longer than it actually was. The pacing was slow, the story felt drawn-out and I felt bored. I didn't like the writing or the narration style. The way the story was told through the eyes of someone else in a different timeline felt poorly executed, and it got old fast. Every character that wasn't Heathcliff was just annoying.
