I don't think I've given a Horus Heresy novel 5 stars in a long time. I never expected to do so for the Death Guard. I never imagined I'd feel sympathy for Mortarion. James Swallow gave me a whole new perspective on them and I loved it. I also really enjoyed the secondary plot line fleshing out more of the origins of the Inquisition and the Grey Knights, confirming some long-held suspicions of mine.
