Bel Canto by Ann Patchett

a really interesting exploration into human interaction throughout a hostage situation and despite all boundaries between each character. i love Patchett's writing and i can really appreciate that her stories feel so real that sometimes they feel like nonfiction. i was always so anxious to know what was happening that i read it so quickly. at the end of the day, a lot of what was happening felt strange and surreal, which was probably the point, but i wish it felt more based in reality. i didn't love a lot of the turns the story was taking and they never felt like they wrapped up well enough. the epilogue sucked, but i liked the way the story ended. it showed that there is always a gray area between good and bad. overall, enjoyed and will be picking up more Ann Patchett.
