Everything Beautiful Is Not Ruined by Danielle Younge-Ullman

3.0

This book was a longer read, and really reminded me of Wendelin Van Draanen's "Wild Bird". It drew on really interesting ways of writing, switching between letters, memories, and the present as the main character goes on a difficult trip of self-discovery and reflection. A lot of times she acts strangely over her age, and I forgot she was only 17. This book delved into the darker side of singing, the darker side of people who fell out of the spotlight, and really makes the reader think about what it means to love someone and be family.
