This review is for the audio version of this book.

Look. I love this book, particularly because I just find Axelrod's voice so clear. I do however want to say, it is much better to actually read this book than to listen to the audio version because the male narrator is just horrendous and completely drowns out the writing.

Tamika Simone does a lovely job with Toni B's voice; she has respect for the characters and for the story being told. Very well rounded and great emotional delivery.

Alexander Cendese. . . . the best way to describe his performance is "Used Car Salesman Brah." It is not only grating, because every sentence is read as if it will end with "and it costs only $9.99!", but it is also insulting. His voices for women and for BiPoc characters are pages right out of Don Rickles joke book full of stereotypes and derision. It is really a shame he was cast because the book and the character Seb deserves much more than this.
