horthhill 's review for:
Front and Center
by Catherine Gilbert Murdock
"Front and Center" follows -in the novel's time line - "The Off Season" and "Dairy Queen" by just a few weeks. "Dairy Queen" started around May or June and ended near the end of August. "The Off Season" started around Sept and ended near the end of Nov.
"Front and Center" begins just before Christmas and ends around March of the next year. So, a lot of the stuff that happened in the earlier novels makes appearances in this one too. This includes the on again and off again DJ and Brian thing. But the really big thing is whether or not DJ can get a basketball scholarship and go to college like her brothers. Well, of course she can! And, that is why "Front and Center" is not quite as good as the others. In the end, DJ just has to make a choice between two great schools. Not exactly exciting. Still, DJ as a character is fun to read about.
