What a fun fantasy read. Paedyn is such a resilient and likeable main character. I ate up the love triangle between Kit Kai and Paedyn. The irony of royalty falling for an ordinary when their father, the king, is trying to rid the world of Ordinaries was an interesting take. I have to admit I don't understand why the purging trials happened. It was giving Hunger Games vibes, but with powers. It was a little more graphic than I enjoy. The ending was absolutely gut-wrenching and emotional. I can't wait to see where this story goes from here.
