i liked the idea of time jumping from the past to the present and finding an old washed up diary on the beach. however, i found myself not caring about the white woman’s perspective (sorry i forgot her name) at all so i sped through those chapters and spent more time on the 16 year old japanese girl’s (nao) diary entries.
