The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan

5.0

“Let us find the dam snack bar," Zoe said. "We should eat while we can."
Grover cracked a smile. "The dam snack bar?"
Zoe blinked. "Yes. What is funny?"
"Nothing," Grover said, trying to keep a straight face. "I could use some dam french fries."
Even Thalia smiled at that. "And I need to use the dam restroom."
Maybe it was the fact that we were so tired and strung out emotionally, but I started cracking up, and Thalia and Grover joined in, while Zoe just looked at me. "I do not understand."
"I want to use the dam water fountain," Grover said.
"And..." Thalia tried to catch her breath. "I want to buy a dam t-shirt.”
I ADORED THIS UGH congratulations to the Titan's Curse for being the first Percy Jackson book to have Nico di Angelo. The ending ruined me emotionally but the little nerd's brief happiness made me happy.
"Are you really the son of Poseidon?"
"Well, yeah."
"Can you surf really well, then?"
I looked at Grover, who was trying hard not to laugh.
"Jeez, Nico," I said. "I've never really tried."
Shoutout to Percy for constantly thinking of why Luke should be dead and shoutout to everyone else driving Percy crazy because they don't agree. I love this angry teenager. Puts the little troublemaker in my pocket.

Also. Percy and Annabeth. If you are unaware, they are the best pairing Ever. I love how even though Annabeth wasn't here literally the entire book, how much Percy's relationship with her built up. The repetition that everyone else is going on this quest to save Artemis and save the world while Percy is going to Annabeth? AAAAAAAARGHHHHHH my emotions. My poor emotions are being attacked.
"Annabeth," I said. "She liked architecture."
"She was nuts about monuments," Thalia said.
"Spouted facts all the time." Grover sniffled. "So annoying."
"I wish she were here," I said.”
THALIA UGH THALIA I adored her character... the endless comparisons to her and to Percy? Ouch. Cradles the cold ground. I'll lay here for a bit. Thank you.
But Thalia held out her spear. "You want some, Seaweed Brain?"
Somehow, it was okay when Annabeth called me that - at least, I'd gotten used to it —- but hearing it from Thalia was not cool.
"Bring it on, Pinecone Face!”
I adored the winter aspect of it all, coats and snow and cold, and I adored the Hunters. Especially... Zoe... Congratulations to the Titan's Curse for being the first Percy Jackson book to make me sob like a tiny child.
“Stars," she whispered. "I can see the stars again, my lady."
A tear trickled down Artemis's cheek. "Yes, my brave one. They are beautiful tonight."
Stars," Zoe repeated. Her eyes fixed on the night sky.
