As a fan of horror and an avid reader of anything queer, I was excited about this one. I started yesterday and found it hard to put down, but alas work intervened and I had to stop reading when I was about 70% in.
When I picked it back up after work there was a gay bashing scene that concluded with the character being sexually assaulted. I texted a friend and told her I would bail. Being so close to the finish line, I decided to see what happened next. Reader, the situation did not improve... but then again by that point I was soured by that specific act of gratuitous violence so I may be biased.
