Echoes of You
by Catherine Cowles
What a phenomenal read....I don't know how Ms. Cowles continues to write such amazing stories, but each book just gets better and better. This is book two in the Lost and Found series that features the Hartley family, and although each can be read as a standalone, members of the family show up in all the books and the first book, Whispers of You, is awesome, so why wouldn't you read it?
Nash has loved Maddie since they were in Kindergarten and she tackled a bully for him. Maddie has been in love with Nash for just as long, but neither want to admit it in case they ruin their friendship. Maddie has run from her abusive ex, her father is getting out of prison where he has been for many years after deliberately hurting Maddie as a child, and her mother is abusive, so she has a lot of bad memories. when things start happening that could put Maddie in harms way, Nash gets overprotective and their closeness makes their chemistry unmistakable.
This book is so well written, it grabs you from the very beginning and the twists and turns keep you guessing to the very end. Catherine Cowles is a master wordsmith, who brings characters to life, envelopes your heart and makes it sing with its happy ending. Her writing is outstanding and should be lauded for all to see.
