A wonderful read. I can't recommend this enough. What I thought was going to be a cliche buddy story turned about to be much more.
Dead Ends tells the story of two seemingly opposite teenagers who grew up by growing as friends. Lange writes Billy D., who has down syndrome, with such honesty that there is no cliche about him or the plot itself. AT times Dane's anger seemed a little cliche in the brooding-16-year-old-male sense, but I think it worked for this story.
