Foundation, Foundation and Empire, Second Foundation
by Isaac Asimov
2.5 stars
It took me six months! Six! To get through Foundation, because it bored me so much. Yet I rattled through Foundation and Empire and Second Foundation in two days.
It just wasn’t to my tastes for the most part, lacking the lush description and intricate character development I favour. The concept was very interesting of psychohistorians trying to prevent disaster and accelerate humanity to prosperity, as was the plot - although I hated the way it developed at the end. The plot was also often predictable. I can see why it is considered a sci fi classic but there’s better options out there now in my opinion.
