๐ญThis is the second book that I have read by lauren after fine print and her books just keep getting better. This book is about the second Kane brother, Declan, who, according to his grandfather's will, has to marry and have kids in order to become the next CEO of Dreamland. The engagement is arranged with a girl but apparently she quits all of a sudden leaving our heroine, Iris, to enter the story and marry Declan.
It is a billionaire, workplace, grumpy/sunshine, age gap, marriage of convenience romance with tension, banter, forced proximity, and groveling that was fun and had me smiling and laughing out loud at times.
Declan - sexy, grumpy, short-tempered, oozes powers, work like a machine and he loves so intensely. Him and his brothers all have tragic backstories. Declan took on the protective role, shielding his brothers from his fatherโs wrath. A lot of Declanโs struggle came from not wanting to be like his father but having those traits within him anyway, whilst trying to change and recognising those traits. I understood him so much more as the book progresses.
The gradual change in Declan's character is slow but noticeable and that's great! He was the most flawed character in the book but he stole my heart. And he knows many languages and expresses himself with one word in different languages!
I like that we get to see the relationships between him and his siblings evolve throughout these books. And the banter between Declan & Cal was on next level(sarcastic, witty and hilarious)
Iris - BADDEST, A hardworking, funny, intelligent sunshine, optimistic, strong and independent heroine that had a backbone and didnโt hesitate to stand up for herself whenever needed and loves her life despite her childhood and present conditions( but i loved the aspect of her mother & grandmother. they were both so funny ๐ฅฐ my favorite scene was the one where iris invited declan to her family's house and they tested him with the spiciest food imaginable. it was so cute to read about all three women teasing him.)
Iris is so sweet and funny. Iris's journey throughout the book is one of self discovery and personal growth. She learns to navigate the complexities of love and relationships. We watch as she confronts her fears & insecurities and as she learns to trust herself and her own instincts.
Iris really stole the show in this book and I really loved her character!!

"Somehow we click although weโre opposites in almost every single way. Iโm a Black woman. Heโs a White male. I smile and he scowls. He wakes up early every morning to work out while I wouldnโt be caught dead at the gym unless it was to grab a smoothie at the cafรฉ. We couldnโt be more different if we tried, yet we make it work. Or at least I do."
Declan and Iris are the definition of soulmates and I enjoyed every page of their epic love story. Their chemistry and dynamics are killer. I am a sucker for fake dating, so fake marriage did the trick! I love the forced proximity throughout the book. It was also super cute how quickly Declan became accustomed to spending every second with Iris.
As the story progressed, glimpses of his soft side started to shine through, and it became clear that there was a wounded soul buried beneath his tough facade. Iris,with her empathetic nature and unwavering kindness, was able to slowly break down his barriers and peel away the layers of pain that he had been carrying for so long.
I also loved how Iris had dyslexia and how sweet Declan was about her difficulties reading. I don't want to spoil anything, but what he did made me swoon. Declan is definitely super grumpy, but it was cute when he initiated some of the dates and really started to fall for Iris. I loved how protective he was, how he couldn't function without her, how he listened to her talking about plants for hours and cooked her dinner every night.
Loved how Declan uses different languages to express himself and his love, their code language!!
Iris and Calโs friendship was everything and I loved their bond more than anything else in this book. We all need a Cal in our life. The way he was there for her whenever she needed someone and how he went against his own brother for Iris touched my heart.
Overall, Terms and Conditions was everything I had been expecting and more! I loved every part of it.
As usual, the epilogue and the extended epilogue were amazing. Lauren always writes the best epilogues, they just give you everything you want to see before the story wraps up๐ฅฐ
๐.๐ I canโt wait to start Cal's story since I love him already and he got sense of humor for sure. Heโs the middle kid and theyโre something!
