Y’all already know I’m biased as fuck about this book, because I had the absolute honour of not only alpha reading but also being a consulting editor (I’m still wrapping my head around that one lol.) But I hope everyone here also knows me well enough to understand that I wouldn’t promote something to the level that I have been, regardless of my involvement, if I didn’t think it deserved the hype. Because this book deserves ALL THE HYPE. From the moment I read the first draft I knew that Paisley had written something extremely special. Her writing was exceptional with Holding The Reins, but now she’s proven to the romance world that she can switch gears and write something gritty and deep and very morally grey with just as much skill.

Wolfe is the perfect morally dark grey MMC, there’s literally not a single thing I would change about him. And Brinley is all of us, I feel like, to some degree. I think a very large majority of women around my age (30’s and early 40’s) were raised in that purity culture lifestyle and it can be an extremely difficult thing to break away from. To see Brinley’s progression as a character and how Gabriel helps her overcome that mentality and accept who she is, was so beautiful and it definitely helped to heal some things in me. Then the way that Gabriel learns to love and begins to understand how much more there can be to life, was really just the icing on the cake.

So not only were our main characters perfect, our side characters were on a whole other level. The way that I fell for Kai…
Lord help me lol. He’s definitely my favourite after Gabriel and I love him so much lol. Paisley, I might actually revolt if we don’t get a Kai book lol.

Now let’s talk plot and spice… there WAS an actual plot!! And it was so fuckin good! (I say this because a lot of really spicy books are hella light on the plot.) But I mean, I knew what was gunna happen beforehand and I was still like, “OH SHIT!” as it played out lol. It was absolutely everything I could have hoped for and Paisley hit the nail on the fuckin head.

So not only do we have a plot, but it was spicy as all hell. I’m talkin, thank fuck my husband was home and it’s nothing short of a miracle that I’m not knocked up right now, kinda spicy lmao. It was NEXT LEVEL. And the progression of the spice…. It just kept getting better and better and better lol. That bike scene… yup, that altered my brain chemistry a little bit. Ok, it altered it a lot. Like a lot a lot lol.

Mark my words… Paisley is about to become a very, very big name in the romance world. I can feel it and I’m calling it right now. I’m so damn excited for everything she’s going to accomplish!

And Paisley, from the bottom of my heart… I love you with the fire of a thousand suns lol ♥️
