The Afterlife of the Party
by Marlene Perez
Thank you NetGalley, Entangled Teen, and Marlene Perez for the opportunity to review this novel. I voluntarily read this novel in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Ugh I wanted to love this but I just couldn’t finish it. I DNF´d it about 100 pages in. It could totally be that the book was intended for a much younger audience than myself. The writing seemed very young and almost choppy between trying to throw in cliche sayings and moving the plot along. I would be willing to try to read this again in the future but at this point, I wasn’t captivated by the story due to the writing style.
If you are really really into vampires you might be able to finish this story but otherwise I found myself simply skimming and I knew I wasn’t doing the book or myself any favors in finishing it.
