The Hopkins Manuscript by R.C. Sherriff

Not quite what I expected- I'd thought that there would be a grander sense of doom and gloom, but rather it was the opposite. This was basically a slice-of-life story about about who learns that the moon is going to crash into the Earth and how he lives out his days before, during and after the Cataclysm. It's definitely a more sober take on a apocalyptic type story than I've generally encountered, and perhaps a little too tame for me. Still I did enjoy it for the most part (mostly the lead-up to learning about the doom).

ps. Some questions:
  1. What about the fish in the Atlantic Ocean?
  2. Is the moon sticking out of the ocean? If so, is it enough to cast a shadow on nearby land?
