A Wallflower Christmas by Lisa Kleypas

3.0

I’m doing the unthinkable, I’m changing my review from 4 star to 3 after rereading this. Even MJ Wells as narrator couldn’t fix this terrible book. It’s so rapey. My gawd, what was Kleypas thinking with this one? Nice for updates on the Wallflowers but the love story between Rafe and Hannah was terrible. The hero was so unlikeable and does not require consent before frequently grabbing and kissing the heroine despite her protests. This is assault, yikes. This book needs trigger warnings. And why does Matthew Swift have an Irish accent in this one but in his own book, with the same narrator, he is American (which he is, he’s from Boston)? The only worthwhile thing in this book is the interlude between Evie and Sebastian at 74%. Do yourself a favour and don’t bother with this one. I don’t think it was well thought out.
