Broken Things by Lauren Oliver

5.0

(*my overall rating is a 4.5)

oh. my. gosh.

so.

shall we begin?

so, this book follows two girls, Brynn and Mia, who were accused of killing their best friend Summer. on the fifth anniversary, they finally decide to find out who actually did it.

I LOVED THIS STORY TO DEATH.

this is my second book of Lauren Oliver’s and she has yet to fail me.

anywho, lets start.

the story started pretty generic. i was a bit confused about Lovelorn but other than that i was intrigued. Brynn and Mia were both characters that i liked! they were great!

i totally get Cat and Jade from Victorious vibes?? Brynn is just such a badass who will fight you if you cross her and Mia is the softest baby ever i don’t know how they could possibly assume she’d commit a murder.

Abby was also such a BAD BITCH! she was the best i love her so much. she had confidence that i could only DREAM of having but like still.

also, Owen is officially my new fictional crush.

the story developed so well and i felt the rush as we weaves through the story and as we uncovered more and more about the killer.

my favorite part of the story was definitely when all of them were together in Owen’s house and they were reading through Summer’s pages of the story of Lovelorn.

speaking of Summer, i really hated her.

but i feel like the way that Lauren Oliver write how she abused Mia and Brynn was so great? Summer manipulated the girls and verbally and mentally abused them and i just feel like it was handled very well.

AND I AM SO DAMN HAPPY THAT MIA AND OWEN ENDED UP TOGETHER LIKE YES YOU GO NEW OTP PEOPLE.

one last thing, i would’ve NEVER expected Ms, Gray to be the killer.
