A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin

4.0

A bit more slow-moving than A Game of Thrones, but the last 300 pages made up for it (yes, 300 pages may sound like a lot, but it's only about a third of this massive piece of epic-ness). I wish there would have been more with Daenerys, but I sense she will be playing a much bigger part in the books to come. Arya's part was definitely the most fun for me to read, but the character development in this book has made me really love each one in a different way--even those who you might consider the 'bad guys.' Being so attached of course makes everything that happens much more exciting and crazy suspenseful. I have no idea where everyone will end up because there are so many directions the plot could take.
