Waking the Witch: Reflections on Women, Magic, and Power by Pam Grossman

Did not finish book. Stopped at 24%.

I was a bit unsure with the language being used that this book was going to support a gender binary, but I did some googling and gave it a chance. I got to the chapter where the author describes Hermione and sings the praises of JKs constructions of gender in the series and I had to quit. I get this was written before her TERFiness was common knowledge, but I also couldn’t find anything from the author indicating a change in mind about this analysis of Rowling and her writing. Too much ick.
