My Book of Life by Angel by Martine Leavitt

4.0

It's hard to find words for this eloquent, painful little book. I loved Angel and her story, and how she comes to understand the world through words in a very honestly teenaged way, which is beautiful, memorable and not trite. I'm not sure what to do with this feeling of intimate knowledge of Vancouver's ugly history around prostitution. It does reinforce that arresting the johns is the way to go.
