A Most Peculiar Circumstance by Jen Turano
3.0
A nice enough read, although the characters seem too much like Godbotherers to me. And the romance plot felt too...I don't know, too neat and nice with a pink lacy bow on top and inevitable to my liking.
I was looking for HR books with suffragette characters but perhaps I expected too much from this book. The occasional mentions of rallies and Elizabeth Cady Stanton were not enough. Interestingly, the author used Stanton, an ex-Christian, instead of, say, Susan B. Anthony or Lucretia Mott, who come from the Society of Friends, as the reference for the suffrage movement in the book.
