OK, someone in the writers' room for "Loki" totally read this book. I refuse to accept otherwise. We were watching this summer, and early on someone actually says "It's just one damned thing after another," and I exclaim to M, "That's the title of the time travel book I just read!" THEN a couple of weeks later, one of the major, major plot-points in "Loki" is essentially identical to a big near-the-end plot-point in this book, and I exclaim, "That is TOTALLY a premise from the book I just read!!" That says nothing about the book other than I deeply appreciated the pop culture synergy that happened for me in the summer of 2021.

The book? It required very little brain power to read, which was a good way to ease into the summer. I was not emotionally invested in any of the characters, which is not great. But I also didn't hate them. So, that's something. I continue to be bored by female characters who are completely oblivious that virtually every man around them is smitten with them - and kinda obvious about it. (See: Katniss Everdeen in book 1 of [b:The Hunger Games|2767052|The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)|Suzanne Collins|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1586722975l/2767052._SY75_.jpg|2792775].)

It was light. There was time travel. There was excitement. I definitely don't regret the $2 spent on iBooks. But I'm not going to continue the series.
