I finished this book last week, and still it's roiling about in my mind. This memoir of Westover's youth as the daughter of a fundamentalist--who doesn't believe in school or doctors--is powerful. After reading everything she went through, I'm in awe of her strength. The book isn't always easy to read--the violence; when people are critically injured, yet treated at home--but it is well, well worth it.
