annoying narrator, badly executed and overhyped “twist” that completely nullifies the original premise, and poorly developed female characters. still interesting enough not to DNF it.

a shame because i really enjoyed the maidens when i read it 3 years ago, but then again i may have been distracted by the setting and the mc sharing my name. or maybe i’m feeling extra critical of thriller/mystery bc i just listened to the paris apartment lol. who knows?
