Overall, it is not a strong collection of stories. I had to force myself to read and finish this book. I truly did not enjoy the process. I'll be unhauling this book.
Here's what I thought of each story:
1.) Reign of Diamonds - Felt like the summary of the end of a story I didn't get to read. 3 stars
2.) Fletcha - Loathed the writing style. The story was lame. 1 star
3.) The First Day of Us - Reminded me of Zenon, but Zenon did it better. 1.5 stars
4.) The Tin Man - Doesn't feel like a complete story. 3 stars
5.) This Is Our Manifesto - Again, it feels like a chapter for a book, not a complete short story. 2.5 stars
6.) Creatures of Kings - Not bad. Had a very YA feels with the writing style, but it did tell a decent story, and the idea of the world of Undar is an interesting one. 3.5 stars
7.) Eterno - I finally got a 5 star story out of this collection! It's such a good story with an interesting magic/reaper concept. Would love to read a longer version of this story. 5 stars
8.) White Water, Blue Ocean - DNF, just would not get to the point.
9.) Leyenda - Had potential, but again, it did not feel like a completed story. 2.5 stars
10.) Color-Coded - Not bad, a story about puberty, basically. 2.5 stars
11.) Magical Offerings - Alice in Wonderland & Beauty and the Beast fairy tale vibes. Not bad. Four stars
12.) Rogue Enchanments - Started off interesting. I liked the magic and the challenges Graciela had to overcome. I didn't care for the ending. It felt tacked on. 3 stars
13.) Sumaiko y La Sirena - Meh. Mermaids should be more interesting. My most hated tropes... She's special, didn't you notice she was special? Men are rapey kidnappers. Was it really his fault he was obsessed with Suma when she sang him her siren song? 2 stars
14.) River People - Found this one boring and ended up skimming it. 1 star.
15.) Moonglow - WTF did I just read? 2.5 stars for the weirdness.
16.) Killing El Chivo - Had magic, had a villain. I guess
