One Word Kill by Mark Lawrence
5.0
This is a supremely beautiful book. Mark Lawrence can write fucked up shit like he did in Broken Empire trilogy, but even that fucked up shit had a lot of heart lurking around somewhere in the background. This book is all heart.
The characters in the story stick with you because of the reality of all of them. Their feelings and their actions are all motivated by a need to belong and to be accepted. Somewhere along the way, you feel connected to them and even though it's a short book, you care for them like you'd do for characters in books that span for trilogies and more.
And even with all the shenanigans in the book, it stays with you long after you are done reading it.
Wonderful book. Read it if you like to wrap your mind around the complexities of time travel. Also, another great time travel book is Matthew Reilly's Secret Runners of New York. Both books present amazing explanations of time travel!
