Strange Meeting by Susan Hill
4.0
This book is a wonderful story that shows many aspects of the war and focuses on the relationship of two people during the first world war that couldn't have been more different from each other but still managed to create a wonderful friendship and how this helped them through the hard times of the war.
This book has so many different moments to it that just shows how the war had affected soldiers and how different people coped through them differently and the reality of the war.
The friendship between the two main characters, John Hillard and David Barton, is that which you can only wonder at because it is so beautiful and you don't want them to be parted. This book was definitely a good read and a good novel to read if you like books about war, but without too much dying, which focuses more on the bonds between people.
