The Beatles - Tomorrow Never Knows
An experience like no other. It builds momentum so well, leaving you feeling separated from the world in total immersion (or alienation?). The novel gave me feelings of a deep sadness and fragility, relating to the fleetingness of moments and lives. I felt isolated and powerless at times, as to what it all added up to. The same feelings also awoke a light in me that inspired me to keep on reading. The moments of humanity are few and far between, but not without lasting impact. Funny but with a bitter aftertaste, a kind of longing and yearning felt in the soul of the book. For a different existence, for something coherent and self-evident? Something that does not require constant argument, altercation, and struggle, with insufficient outcome.
