All the Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood

5.0

Hands down my favorite book of the year. There's one line in the book where the author uses the phrase 'like lighting a match to gasoline' and that's exactly what this book is. The first half is the gasoline, it's a morally confusing relationship for the reader but in the beginning, it's innocent and secretive and uncomfortably ok. To be honest I thought this was all the book would be and I was prepared to give it a 4 star review. Not bad. And then the match is lit and you cannot put it down. I read the first half over the course of a few days and then finished the second in one sitting. I felt so strongly in this book that at one point I felt destroyed and had no choice but to cry, but I could not but the book away. Anyone who's open minded enough to get through he murky relationship should absolutely read this book.
