A really fun cosy fantasy, I didn't think this would be as good as book 1. And while I think that it was almost just the first book all over again, I did find myself quite enjoying it.
However from this I think that once again the side characters are not very well developed, at least on the page, for instance Ariadne and the other scholar accompanying them this time where little more than filler characters, I didn't see them truly have a massive impact and could have been removed entirely without much change.
Plus the story teeters out at the end, leaving me a little disappointed, as the book could have been longer.
But overall still a good solid cosy fantasy, that I look forward to continuing.
