The first half of this book is quite slow and didn't really grab me. The magic system was super interesting, but the characters felt very flat and too perfect. The second half of the book was much better and really salvaged the first part. I don't think this is the most amazing book I've ever read, but it was still pretty good and I enjoyed it by the end.
