Hello, Universe by Erin Entrada Kelly

This book has a nice diverse cast of characters, racially and otherwise. It touches on disability, bullying, and family relationships but nothing too deeply. I would have liked to see some of that go deeper or get resolved more.

Kids this age will probably identify with the feeling that none of the parents really "get" the kids, and the need to find friends who do. I also really like that it shows kids with disabilities as whole people with a lot of the same struggles as everyone else.
