I don't know what to write. All I can say that I enjoyed this book. All right, the long essays put in the middle where a bit boring. I am not a literature student or a political science student who analysed the "depths" of the novel or whatever. But I enjoyed it and that is all what matters.

One of the best things about this novel is the sudden and unexpected twists and turns. You finish one chapter, move to the next and suddenly there would be exclamations like, "He had done it! Done it at last!" While this might seem nothing much, it is. Because there are so many things at stake that you don't know which one has happened.

And then comes the fact that what you expect to happen didn't happened. Throughout the book, whenever Julia and Winston did some "merry making" I was screaming internally like, "NO!!! SHE'LL END UP GETTING PREGNANT AND THEN YOU'LL BE CAUGHT!"

But that didn't happen. Why, because they were the dead.

And honesty, the phrase "You are the dead" is what makes this novel worthwhile. So if you're someone reading (and hating) this book because it is an assigned reading, please don't hate it. If you are finding it difficult to understand it, don't give up. Do it for the line "You are dead".

I was about to put the book down and go to bed because I was sleepy. And I swear, this line woke me up. I don't know why I am so obsessed with this line, but I am.

And remember, Big Brother is always watching you.
