Undrowned: Black Feminist Lessons from Marine Mammals by Alexis Pauline Gumbs

4.0

A collection of shorter pieces of writing this book did not flow as a book but rather in shorter reflections. An amazing book to read a piece of every day over a longer period of time - or to read with someone else. I am not sure what I expected from this book but I think I expect to LOVE it and perhaps that did not allow me to just let this book be what it was. It really is a book that is best read in short sections with time to absorb and reflect on the ideas and thoughts. Perhaps this is why although I found I did not love the reading of this book as much as I thought - I loved the ideas and the places this book too me to and the questions will continue to sit with me for a long time.
