Loved this book, which is no surprise as the whole interconnected series is great but I think I especially enjoyed this one.
This book has the type of fake dating where you’re sitting there thinking “oh you’re both idiots!!” at first because they obvi like each other but both think it’s all for the fake.
I LOVE Mia - she’s a bit of a badass in various ways, but the end of the limo scene?? I was like “ohhh damn girl!!” Lol and of course later on when she really stands her ground for herself and what she feels she deserves.
I got the warm fuzzies but then also cried at the hard parts. Again, they’re idiots…especially Ford. But I also love how emotional he is (tearing up, lumps in his throat, voice breaks, etc.) and I just wanna hug him. Shake him and then hug him.
The tough parts were tough - I felt for both of them. Totally got why they each were the way they were but it sucked how that played out for them. It made the resolution that much sweeter.
FORD IS SO DAMN ROMANTIC! *swoons* how he goes about fixing things… ahh *kicking feet, hands under chin, dreamy*
There are open-door scenes in this, but just the amount and kind I needed. It’s there but it’s not the main show, it complements the emotional/relationship romance which is so central to the book. I really wanted to read something where the relationship and emotional connection was more of the thing and built well, this definitely has it down - I expect nothing less from Kelsie!
I also love the family aspect every time. It’s been brought up some point on Kelsie’s FB group or a live stream but I absolutely would love the boys’ dad Grey’s story. I don’t even need him to be some overly sexy Zaddy silver fox but he’s just so good with his sons and he’s got his “friend” Aggie and I’d just love to see him get his own happily ever after.
Overall, this is a really good romance that will get your heart all giggly and giddy and with just enough hotness to solidify the chemistry, featuring two strong leads who have their issues to deal with in order to finally get their HEA.
Definite recommend if you’re looking for a romance with a good emotional connection between the MCs.
5/5 ⭐️
I received an advance copy of this book and have left my honest, influence-free review.
Also, as an aside, I’m FROTHING AT THE MOUTH for Hayes…I just know he’s gonna be my fave brother, lil harmless baddie with a lip ring and probably walls up hiding a total sweet heart - yes pls.
