This book is written in a very story-telling style and it keeps the history from being too dry even if the subject matter is fascinating. My one wish is that the author had chosen to expand his reach as the Renaissance is all too often written in the context of what is today known as Italy. An expansion into other areas of the world would have made this book truly a great book. Even with that lacking this was a good read that sparked my curiosity to find more out about the depravity of the age.
